'Big Inch' 1975 Caddy
'Big Inch' 1975 Caddy by Greg Zyla
Q: I have a 1975 Cadillac Coupe Deville with a 500 cubic inch engine, 97,500 original miles and it's in very good condition. What do you feel this car is worth now, and will it be worth more in the future? John E. P., e-mail from Pennsylvania.
A: John, this is a very interesting car for two reasons. First, the 1975-76 Cadillac Deville series, both coupe and sedan, were the largest Cadillacs ever built. They also had the biggest engine ever offered in a V8 Cadillac passenger car. Your Cadillac is presently not fetching any real big bucks.
A good condition Cadillac like yours will bring about $2650 to $5,000 on the collector market, but I feel in the years to come, a mammoth 1975-76 Caddy could well escalate more because of its unique largeness. Like say, they didn't make them any bigger. It may pay you down the road if you hold on to the Caddy, so take good care of it.
