Bye Bye Monte Carlo

Bye Bye Monte Carlo by Greg Zyla

Q:: I own a 1983 Chevy Monte Carlo with 63,000 miles. It is the standard model, not an SS. I'm thinking of trading it in. What is it worth?
Marybeth H., e-mail from Georgia.

A: This low mileage Chevy is a $2000 to $2700 piece to the right buyer. You might want to try selling the car yourself, however, because most dealers probably won't go $2500 on a trade unless you're buying a new vehicle. It would make a great second car, or a nice vehicle for a college student. If it were an SS, it would be worth more.
